Brooks Woodland: Connor's Pond TractQuaker Dr., Petersham, MA One- to two-mile loop trails lead visitors on gentle hikes through dense and more open woodlands. Description:One- to two-mile loop trails through the Connor’s Pond Tract of the Brooks Woodland Preserve lead visitors on gentle hikes through both dense and more open woodlands. One trail leads to the impressive Rutland Brook where it empties into Connor’s Pond. That pond, created by a dam on the East Branch of the Swift River near Rtes. 32/122, is surrounded at its northern points by lovely marshes traversed by some of the trails. (Also visit the Roaring Brook Tract and the Swift River Tract.) Directions:From Rte. 2, take Exit 17 and go south on Rte. 32 through Petersham center to the 32/122 intersection. Continue south 1.5 miles, turn left on Quaker Dr., and go 0.5 miles. One entrance (marker #65) is here; others (marker #63 and #60) are further along Quaker Dr. Contact:
