North Quabbin Woods Clippings

December 22, 2005 -- $50,000 to Promote Tourism

The North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce has received a $50,000 state grant to support and expand the North Quabbin Woods tourism initiative through the efforts of State Sen. Stephen Brewer and state Rep. Chris Donelan.

While tourism will never replace the manufacturing jobs lost in the area, tourism should play a larger part in future economic development strategy.

The funds will be used for completion of the existing Quabbin Woods website, to update and reprint the Tully Trails map, development of a new regional attraction guide, support for several area tourist-related events, redesign of the chamber website to compliment the North Quabbin Woods brand and look, the brochures “A Tour of the Nine Quabbin Town Commons” and “The Visitors Guide” will be updated and reprinted, and new North Quabbin Woods signage.
